9th August 2008 'Kwati Punhi and World Indigenous Day' held in Tokyo World Indigenous Peoplefs Day in Tokyo at its Annual Kwati Punhi(tradition of eating mixed beans soup)held at Dharma Restaurant followed by an interaction program celebrating the World Indigenous Day,in which the chief guest Mr. Malla K. Sundar delivered the speech about the history of Indigeneous people and also inlight the further strengthen the national cooperation for the solution of problems faced by indigenous people in such areas as culture, education, health, human rights,social and economic development.Also present was the Ambassador of Nepal Dr.Ganesh Yonjon Tamang. 2007 'Kwati Punhi and World Indigenous Day'
Sports, Interaction and Party to mark the 13th World IndigenousPeoples' Day.NIFJ observed 13th World Indigenous Peoplefs Day in Tokyo at its Annual Kwati (tradition of eating mixed beans soup) party with added sports events of swimming, Bhutumali (kite) flying, Champati and Pandas games at scenic island of Enoshima in the suburb of Tokyo.
